What do removalists actually do? What’s included when you book
Updated 17 September 2026

What removalists actually do is more than lifting boxes. When you book Glide Move you get two skilled removalists, a 28 m³ / 4.5 tonne truck, protective wrapping, furniture taken apart and put back, goods in transit insurance and public liability. Travel between pickup and delivery is in the quote.
What’s included with Glide Move
- Two professionals and the 28 m³ / 4.5 tonne truck.
- $170/hr incl. GST. Three-hour minimum, then 30-minute increments.
- Blankets, stretch wrap and protection for furniture.
- Beds, tables and wardrobes disassembled and reassembled.
- Placement in the rooms you point to at the new place.
- Goods in transit and public liability.
- No deposit. No cancellation fee.
What is optional
Packing the boxes is optional. We can take the whole house, one room, or finish what’s left — same hourly rate, quoted before we start. See the right way to pack if you are doing it yourself.
Extra crew or a larger truck is quoted if the inventory needs it. Pianos, marble, gym gear and fish tanks need a mention on the form.
What we do not move
We do not move food or open liquids. We are not allowed to put LPG bottles from BBQs or heaters on the truck — disconnect those and take them yourself. The BBQ itself is fine. Full list is on the FAQ.
Compare that list with any other quote. If wrapping, assembly or travel is extra, the hourly rate is not the real removalist cost. Request an estimate.
